    Facilitation Supports

Need additional ideas about how to facilitate the IROD questions and processes? We have run the bases online and in person, in numerous venues, with groups of 2 to 400. We have many high- and low-tech ideas for you!

    • Make every step visible. Write out every contribution from your team/audience for each base.
    • At 3rd base, when you have narrowed your selection of options, don’t erase anything! Strike through options not taken. You may want to resurrect an idea later.
    • Invite your team to use an online shared document for shared notetaking. Project it for everyone to see.
    • Visual Aids:
      • Use posters with IROD starters for reference and reminders for each base.
      • Have stickers made of IROD starters. Stick them to the back of staff badges for easy
        reminders.
    • Take photos of your work so you have the notes to refer to as you need them later.
    • In-person materials list:
      • Chart paper: Have many available so you can generate ideas efficiently, and can write large enough for the team to be able to read
      • Markers (many colors)
      • Sticker dots for ranking options. Examples: Give each participant 3-5 dots to mark their favorite option for 3rd Base. The top 3 vote-getters are your top choices.
      • Post-It notes (various sizes): Extra Large notes can be used for individuals/teams of people to generate ideas (one idea only per note) and post them for the team to see. Efficient and gets exactly the idea from the person/team.
      • White board use instead of paper: Just remember to take a picture before your great ideas are erased and lost forever!

Which of these factilitation supports you will most likely use?

This response will be awarded full points automatically, but it will be reviewed and possibly adjusted after submission.
