    2. People want to just push through (to make a decision or meet a deadline).

    5. You hear team frustration rising.
    6. You see anger.
    7. Members search for a new leader.
    8. Members opt off the team, costing their organization time and money.

    10. Teams make decisions based on flawed or partial data.
    11. Teams don’t gather feedback from the team or other stakeholders.
    12. Decisions are made by individuals instead of whole teams.
    13. Decisions are dictated by power rather than created through collaboration.
    14. Teams miss options and need to revisit their decisions.
    15. Team members feel like meetings are a waste of time.
    16. Impromptu meetings after the meetings are where team members voice their real opinions.
    17. Decisions get made before or after meetings.
    18. People don’t feel heard.
    19. Participants grandstand rather than engage in dialogue.
    20. You feel resistance.
    21. You know you’re making decisions not supported by your team.
    22. Team trust decreases.
    23. Team dysfunction increases.
    24. Leaders who consistently fail to run the bases fail to keep their jobs.

It’s easy to fall back into old and unsuccessful habits. Build a new reflection habit after your meetings. Ask yourself, “Did we touch all the bases?” If your answer is “no,” commit to including he four IROD questions next time! Ask a teammate to alert the group if your process misses any steps.

This response will be awarded full points automatically, but it will be reviewed and possibly adjusted after submission.
